More to Love About Flickr
Techcrunch shared some exciting news today, as Flickr, which has been closely associated with Picnik (my favorite online photo editor), has finally integrated Picnik’s photo editing capabilities into their site. To access these tools, simply open an image or upload one to Flickr, then click the Edit button above the image (which, by the way, is very easy to miss). I’ve already shared some of the features available in Picnik previously, and these features are now all available within Flickr, which definitely will serve as a time-saver. The interface appears as seen below:

The basic essential editing tools are all present, including the always useful red-eye reduction tool. Additionally, the Create tab allows users to add special filters, text, and graphics to their images.

The image below is an example of the Matte filter applied to one of my many pics of creepy crawlers.

Flickr is already used by many students and educators for photo storage. Now that the creative functionality of Picnik has been added, it is even more propitious. Of course, that is assuming those students and teachers are in a district/school that isn’t blocking Flickr…
