Del.icio.us: Easily Amused?
Does anyone else get really excited when they are first or almost first to bookmark a site? It is very refreshing to be so easily amused.
I mentioned previously that I’ve been using the Flock browser blog tool, but I thought I’d give it free advertising again. It is incredibly convenient and very easily set up. It also features tools for uploading pics, creating automatic del.icio.us bookmarks, and more. Excellent resource–I appreciate it more each time I put it to use.
I had the opportunity to meet with a teacher who is very interested in wikis today. She is set up on Wikispaces and off and running. She has plans to create pages for each grading period and a page for student discussion topics. I’ll post a link once she gets it going.
I am excited after a short meeting with our director yesterday. She completely signed off on a couple of ideas. The first is a teacher website competition for the district. We have some teachers who are pushing the boundaries, and it will be good to get to highlight their efforts. The second will be a student podcast contest. This will come later this semester, after we get all of our department and the teachers trained. We’ll be developing criteria upon which the judging will be based largely from scratch, so any input will be most welcomed. I’ll share the rubric as it is created.
