About Me
I am a lucky husband of 12 years and a father of 2, a 3 year-old boy and a 6 year-old girl. I am in my sixteenth year as an educator, including teaching 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade science. The past five years have been in my current position as an Instructional Technology Specialist in Birdville ISD, located in the suburbs northeast of Fort Worth, Texas. A lot has changed since I learned basic programming on a Commodore Pet back in the 80s, and the rate of change is mind-boggling today! It is quite the challenge to keep up. This blog is an effort to share what I’m learning, the successes and failures we experience in our district, and to seek input from the global educational technology community. Thanks for visiting, and I look forward to our discourse!

Hi,
Nice blog! I am an educator myself, teaching at Rhode Island School of Design at the education department. I too have been interested in educational technologies. I built a project (now a company) called Digication, and it has been used by several schools now. Please feel free to check it out at http://www.digication.com. I’ve been particularly interested in creating e-portfolios – http://spotlight.digication.com.
I would love to get your feedback.
Best,
Jeffrey Yan
